About Your Teacher
Hi, I’m Leanne Cusumano Roque. I founded Yoga 4 All Bodies and am a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher (CIYT) and an International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) Certified Yoga Therapist.
Private and Group Yoga Classes in the Iyengar Tradition
“I believe yoga is for every body, but sometimes a body needs special attention and help. It is my purpose to provide a safe and supportive environment to grow through yoga.”
Want to know why you're doing what you're doing? You're in the right place.
I began practicing yoga in 2006 after a friend suggested I try it out. I read a book that said I should wait until I could practice every day for 6 months, so I figured out when I could practice daily and started yoga classes on Mother’s Day 2006. After 6 months of daily practice I knew yoga was the practice for me!
I explored multiple traditions along the way, and in 2009 found Iyengar Yoga. I appreciated the way in which sequences were built to create a particular effect, as well as how there was a focus on precision along with an explanation of why it matters. I knew soon that I wanted to become a teacher to help share the benefits of yoga with others. I started teaching in 2012, in 2013 took and passed my first Iyengar assessment, and in 2014 took and passed the second assessment that made me a fully Certified Iyengar yoga teacher (CIYT).
Teacher training in the Iyengar tradition is one of the most rigorous and precise trainings for yoga teachers. Trainees are required to have a minimum of three years of practice in the Iyengar tradition, significant training, must be recommended by two senior teachers, and then must pass assessments in front of 3 additional senior teachers. Assessments include written exams, demonstrated practice, and teaching assessment. I continue to take and study higher assessment levels to improve my ability to serve you.
You can gain physical, mental, emotional, spiritual transformation
You can transform your health with yoga. I have worked with students who have had multiple back surgeries and cannot bend forward, people with difficulty walking or getting on the floor who need special modifications, students who feel anxious / depressed, and people with a range of medical issues. I love working with people who want to improve their capabilities, and who may be apprehensive about taking yoga. Together, we build your strength, flexibility, and equanimity.
I also use International Coach Federation coaching competencies to help you learn and grow
I hold an International Coach Federation Professional Certifed Coach credenital. I began coaching in 2004 and continue to coach professionally. I use my coaching competencies to help you grow your yoga and yourself. For example, I ask questions to help you internalize your learnings and progress. I inquire as to what you want to accomplish so we can focus on what is most important to you. And I check with you on your well-being. We are all adult learners. I respect and honor that we each know ourselves best, while offering possibilities for exploration.

The Benefits of Iyengar Yoga
Iyengar Yoga develops strength, stamina, concentration, coordination, flexibility, and more. Using physical alignment as a starting point, Iyengar Yoga encourages the spread of intelligence throughout the body, the growth of self-awareness, and an experience of the asanas as a form of “meditation in action.” Click here to read a bit more about my yoga journey and how after a painful knee injury I found Iyengar Yoga.
