Why Veterans Yoga?
My Uncle came back from Korea and was never the same. In addition to having multiple difficulties in his own life, the life of his family was dramatically different than it would have been had he been able to be the loving, supportive spouse and parent he could have been. What might his and his family’s life have been like if he’d had the chance to process in a healthy way what he experienced?
My Uncle is not alone. Pretty much everyone has experienced trauma of some kind at some time in their life. Yet we don’t learn in school how to manage what is a normal part of life.
Recognizing this, I am on a continuous journey to identify how best to support us human beings in moving with ease through life.
As part of that journey, in 2017 I completed training with Daniel J. Libby, Ph.D. of the Veterans Yoga Project on Mindful Resilience Training for Trauma Recovery. Within the framework of Iyengar Yoga, I offer students space to help move through what life brings.
Yoga can help.
First class is always free. I encourage everyone to come for a free initial 30 minute private before coming for a free or paid group class or a paid private.
