Weekend Yoga Retreat on the Water to renew our spirits and refresh our minds as we finish winter.

WHEN

HOW

Friday

  • Arrive in time to begin instructed restorative yoga practice from 4:30-6:30pm,
  • Enjoy a post-practice vegan dinner together as a group.
  • Rest of the evening as you wish.


Saturday

  • Optional dawn pranayama open practice. Do your own practice and have the opportunity to see how others practice.
  • Breakfast on your own. Full kitchen in accommodations.
  • Optional asana open practice. Do your own practice and have the opportunity to see how others practice and/or work together.
  • 10am – 12:30pm: Instructed yoga practice with a focus on backbends to open the heart and warm the body through this time of cold and dark.
  • Lunch on your own.
  • Free time to explore the shore and area or veg out, as you wish.
  • 3:30-5:30pm: Instructed restorative yoga practice.
  • Dinner on your own.

Sunday

  • Optional dawn pranayama open practice. Do your own practice and have the opportunity to see how others practice.
  • Breakfast on your own.
  • Optional asana open practice. Do your own practice and have the opportunity to see how others practice and/or work together.
  • 10am – 12:30pm: Instructed yoga practice with a focus on backbends to open the heart and warm the body through this time of cold and dark.
  • Lunch on your own.
  • Departure.


WHERE

Single-family home rental on the Chesapeake in Maryland or Virginia, a 2 to 2.5 hour drive from Reston, Virginia.
Exact rental location depends on number of retreatants, but each person has their own bedroom unless couples choose to room together. Bath may be shared.

All options are waterfront with spectacular views and space for our yoga practice.

WHY

February, despite being the month having the fewest days of any, feels the longest! We have made it through 2/3 of the season of winter but Spring is often not yet felt. Our energy often reflects this.
We can re-energize through our practice, through time for ourselves, and through being on the water and re-connecting with our nature, inside and out.

Coming together as a group helps us to support each other in doing what matters most to us.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

  • Friday dinner,
  • 2 nights accommodations in a private room in a waterfront home,
  • use of a full kitchen,
  • 9 hours of yoga instruction, 4 of which are focused on restoratives including pranayama, and 5 of which are focused on  backbends
